This course helps employees gain a better understanding of the law regarding health and safety while also giving updated advice on accident reporting, assessment of risk in the workplace and the prevention of infection and the basics of COSHH.
Participants are taught to spot Health & Safety risks to themselves, service users and colleagues including understanding the effect of their action or inaction. .

This course is aimed at health and social care workers - whether they are in the public or private sector. Participants are taught to spot Health & Safety risks to themselves, service users/clients and colleagues in their place of work. This includes understanding the effect of their action or inaction.
The course will include:
- An introduction to Health & Safety law
- Common causes of accidents and how to prevent them
- Manual handling risks and the principles of effective manual handling
- Electrical safety
- Preventing infections
- Fire safety
- Assessing risk
- Accident reporting
Course duration and assessment:
This training course is delivered as either a full or half day session and concludes with a written assessment of knowledge.
