Positive Behaviour Support
Learners will need to complete our training skills for trainers day before they attend any of our Train the Trainer course days. Please note that this is only compulsory if you have never attended one of our Train the Trainer course days before. You do not need to complete our training skills day if you have already attended.
Positive behaviour support is a person-centred approach to support people who display behaviours which challenge. Positive behaviour support includes understanding for the reasons behind behaviour and consider the person. This can include life history, physical health and emotional needs.
During the session, you’ll cover:
Understand how to promote positive behaviour within the workplace settings
Have an awareness of David Pitonyak and how to implement his findings into the workplace
Understand what the hotel model is and its negative impact in care services and why we would use active support instead
Understand person-centred care and how to implement into the workplace
Know how to create positive behaviour support and what they include.
This training is available as a half or full day course and comprises of an engaging mix of activities with fellow learners (maximum fifteen delegates). You’ll be asked to complete a simple multiple-choice assessment after you take the course. You will receive a certificate once you have passed the assessment.Enquire
